I'm gonna go irish on you for a second...
Got to sleep in for a wee bit this marnin'. We were still havin breakfast by 8 terty, but t'was later than the last few days.
When we finished, one of the sons - Richard - from the B and B, drove my Mom and I to the Lisburn train station. We checked prices and times there, and then walked up, in the rain, to the bus station. Today was the first crappy day weather wise. When we arrived at the bus station, the one we wanted was already sitting in a stall waiting to leave. We found that out from the guy behind the counter, ran over, outside, and hopped on. The bus driver didn't make us pay, and he drove us to the next stop about a mile down the road. We got off there, thanked him, and went for a quick look around the Marks and Spencers, as we knew the next bus we needed wouldn't be there for a while.
When it arrived, we hopped on it, and went into Dublin. I must admit, I felt a little guilty for falling asleep on the 2 and a half hour journey. Who falls asleep on a bus journey they've never been on before? Oh well. I knew we'd be driving back the same way we came, and I was sleepy...so my eyes shut, and didn't open again until we were pretty close to the city centre.
Well...Dublin wasn't what I expected at all. To be honest...I was pretty disappointed. Had I of been staying there, I would have been extremely upset. It's a big city that, aside from the accents, you wouldn't even know was in Ireland. A lot of the people were rude and weren't helpful at all. When my Mom and I finally found what we needed - a bank, an internet cafe, a hair dressers, and a bag of candy...we hopped on a tour bus, and drove through the city. We sat on the top of a double decker bus, but passed by everything entirely too quickly. The recorded commentator would be telling you what you were passing, and before the sentence was even finished, you'd be past it. There wasn't any time to take pictures, and the ones you could take, were through rain drops on the bus window. I wasn't happy :( By the time we came to the end of the tour, it was time to go back to the Dublin bus station, and get on the bus back to Lisburn. Well, we sat on the top of that bus as well, and by the time we got back to Sprucefield, buses to Lisburn had stopped running. We were told how to get to Lisburn on foot, and we began walking. It was peeing down with rain, so after a few minutes, we approached a hotel. We just wanted to run in to let Robert know where we were and what we were doing, but as we walked up to the doors, a cab pulled in. We jumped in, and he drove us to the Lisburn bus station. Another phone call, and a quick walk up to Bachelor's Walk. Robert was picking Jane up across from a Thai restaurant on the street, so we would meet him there as well. Waiting across from there for a couple of minutes at 10pm, when you had yet to have dinner...was a little dangerous. We ended up going in for some take out.
We met up with Jane, and Robert turned up soon after. The 4 of us drove to Tesco's where Jane ran in for a couple of essentials, and then we drove back to the B and B to eat our dinner, and have a conversation. Another late night as I sit here watching what seems like a good movie - had we of seen it from the beginning - looking at pictures, and writing post cards. I'm going to be sooo sleepy tomorrow morning. Better get some things done so I can sleep. Good Night xx
