Today was an early start. Up at 5, and ready by 5:45 to leave for the airport. Our bags were packed, and we were in the car on the way to Stansted. Tim dropped us off, and we went to check in. That was an easy process. Through security, again, no problems, and then onto the plane. My Mom and I fell asleep for most of the flight, waking up just in time to see Ireland from above. What a beautiful place!
We got off the plane, walked into the airport, then checked some things out, and hopped on a train to Belfast. We then walked around a little bit, got a coffee, and took a taxi to the bed and breakfast. We tried to figure out what we wanted to get done over these next few days, while watching some soap operas, and then, after my camera battery was charged a little, we went for a walk.
We took pictures of cows, and explored the farm a bit (where we're staying). Then we walked up the road to see if we could find a pub. Apparently we had walked in the opposite direction. We ended up at a gas station, and asked the cashiers if there was one near by - thinking, there must be as this is Ireland and they're meant to drink more than the Brits - They told us it was a wee jaunt up a busy road, and they wouldn't suggest doing it. We walked to the back of the store and were trying to pick out some sandwiches for dinner instead, when a really nice lady came up to us, told us she lived super close to the hotel/pub, and said she'd drop us there on her way to her place. She went back out to the car, we finished paying for what we were buying, and then walked out thinking "I hope this is an ok idea". When we saw that she had 4 children in the car, we decided we'd be ok. We got in, and a few minutes later, pulled up to this beautiful hotel. We walked in, and unable to choose our meals quickly, asked the barman to return to take our order 2 different times. Eventually we decided on a couple of different dishes, and wrote it down for him. We ate everything, and were soooo full once we'd finished, but we had already decided we'd walk back, so we figured it was ok that we were stuffed.
A walk that could have taken 10 to 20 minutes, ended up taking about half an hour I guess, as we were continuously moving out of the way of oncoming vehicles. When we came up to the B and B drive, horses began approaching us. They came right up to the fence and were letting my Mom pet them. I was taking pictures, but was far too scared to get too close to them. I dunno what it was, I was just afraid of them biting. I was getting my pic taken with one of them, when he nudged my arm. It was too cute but scared the crap out of me. Eventually, after admiring everything around us, we came up to the room. We've just been watching some TV, and the owner of the Bed and Breakfast just came up to see us. He's helping us make plans for the next few days, and we had a really nice conversation with him. Now that he's gone, I'm sitting here waiting for kick-off in the Uruguay vs Holland game, and my Mom is in the shower. I hope Holland win. Uruguay so don't deserve it. Anyways, this very full lady should upload her pictures to the computer, and sit back and enjoy the game. I may have an internet connection a little later, but I'll have to wait and see, so for now...Good Night xx
