Oh, oh oh oh, Sweet Child O' Miiiiiine! < ---- That was the best part of my day. But we'll get to that a little later.
I went down at 7:30 this morning, even though I could hear Tim and Heloise in the kitchen still. I guess I just felt like I should be doing something...but when I got down there, my mind changed. It's such a stressful way to start your day. But I got my breakfast, and soon enough, the two of them left. Zach and I quickly did his flash cards, then his teeth and hair. Once we finished that, I turned on the music, and Josh, Nathaniel and I played Ludo, while I played Pirates with Zach. - Yes, I'm THAT good at multi tasking. :p Ok, maybe my heart wasn't totally into the pirates thing...but I don't think anyone would really know that. Anyway, I got them to get their shoes and stuff on 15 minutes early, so we could continue playing until we had to be out the door. I asked them a few times to put all their bags at the door as well. This, is an important point.
As we left the house, Josh began to cry. He had asked his mom and dad to print off a picture of Jelly on the weekend, it was now due for Math - at 9:20 - and he still didn't have a picture (Don't ask me what a picture of a cat has to do with Math) I tried to calm him down, explaining how busy his parents were, and he argued that they had nothing to do on the weekend. I tried to say they had a lot going on in their minds, but that didn't work either. I told him not to worry, and said I used to hate not having my homework done, and it sucks, but I would run the picture to him before Math. He told me they didn't have a picture of Jelly. He clearly didn't know who he was talking to. I told him I did, and he didn't seem to think I'd make it back to the house and back to school in time. I told him I would. We finally got out the door, I locked up, and we had crossed the street twice as usual, and were headed toward the path when Nathaniel realized he'd forgotten his swimming bag. GOOD LORD! We hurried back to the house, he grabbed that, and I grabbed the keys to the car as we no longer had time to walk. As we were getting in the car, the boys realized there were no car seats. Not taking the car however, was no longer an option. I told them we'd have to anyway, and luckily Josh spotted a car seat in the garage. He ran to get it, we set it up, and away we went. I told the boys we wouldn't be able to play in the mornings anymore, if they couldn't listen to me the first time I said to get ready, and be responsible for their own bags.
We got to the school on time, and luckily I found a spot close to the gate. We walked in, the boys lined up, and once Zach had gone in, I left the and drove back to the house as quickly as I could. I ran in to e-mail the picture of Jelly to myself, then I went downstairs, opened my e-mail, saved the picture, and tried to print it off. Not a chance. The printer was telling me there was a paper jam. I pulled the paper tray out a number of times, and checked the back where it told me to, but nothing was fixing the situation. I began to panic. I debated calling next door to see if I could run over and print it there. A little more panic ran through my system, and I finally figured it out, for some reason it had something to do with the scanner lid. I fixed it, pushed print and ran to the washroom. When I ran back, it hadn't printed. ARGH! I pushed print again, and there it was. Thank Goodness! I locked the door and ran to the car. When I pulled up to the school, it had to have been cutting it close. I took the picture into the same lady I always take forgotten things into, and as she said hi, I said "You must see me and thing My God! What have they forgotten this time?" She laughed and said it wasn't true..But I think she's just really nice. Haha. I told her I had just been informed Josh needed the picture by 9:20, and she said she'd make sure she got it to him. By the time I got back in the car, it was 9:25, so if you ask me, all problems included...I didn't do so badly. I attempted to calm myself down, and drove back to the house.
When I arrived, I came straight upstairs to flat iron my hair. An hour later I was checking for chili ingredients, and on my way to Starbucks. Still with my brain racing around, I sat down to enjoy my drink. I was clearly in fast mode though, because 15 minutes later, I was up and in another store, and soon after, on my way. Dammit. So much for relaxing. I drove to the co-op to get some chili powder, and some condensed tomato soup. All they had was Cream of Tomato soup...so I bought it, and left.
I decided, as I was early, to drive to Tiptree to see if they had any, and they did. Although, it too was cream of. Oh well, I bought it anyways and prayed it would work. When I got back to the house, I saw that Brigitta had been, but was wondering how she was done already, as she's supposed to do 3 hours of cleaning, and wasn't there when I left. I ignored my thoughts, and began to cook. Not long after, I heard the squeak of a door, and sneaky sneaky walked in behind me. GOOD LORD! She said sorry and asked if she scared me. I told her she didn't. (Not like last time anyway, as the door gave a warning this time). I was listening to my music and talking to Tara (my Sister) while cooking, and I was having a great time.
At 3:05 it was time to put the chili in the oven, put the things I used to the side, and leave to get the boys. I drove to the school, parked, and thinking I was running late...hurried in. I wasn't late. Noah's grandparents and I could not believe how long we stood there waiting for Zach's teacher to even open the door, let alone let them out. Josh had come over to where I was standing, and had time to go back in to get his lunch box before Zach had got to me. When Zach did get to me, he was talking about my hair and how he thought I was doing it the same as the airport. I thought it was just straight and down, so I asked him. Then he said maybe it was, he couldn't remember. He later told me (at swimming) that he thinks it might have been my clothes that were different. I told him I thought it was the hoodie I was wearing, and then realized I was probably wearing capris with it. He said yes, and asked if I could wear them again. I told him it was too cold today, but I will do it as soon as I can. What a cutie. Anyway, before leaving the school, I had to go talk to Nathaniel's teacher about some work he had done, and grab one of Nathaniel's shoes and socks, as he was wearing one school shoe, and one football boot. (Apparently his other school shoe had been knocked in the pool and was soaking wet). He looked hilarious. I asked him why he didn't just put both of his football boots on, and he said he didn't have time. Oh I love these kids. You should have seen him. Come to think of it...I should have taken a picture. Just picturing him now, I'm smiling. What a goof.
We drove back to the house, had just enough time to check on the chili, grab a snack, and burn a new CD, then we jumped back into the car, and drove to swimming. On our way, I was singing loudly to my new CD, and when the "BUM BUM BUM" part came on in "Sweet Caroline", I thought Josh was going to pee himself laughing. I was so happy to see that I could put a smile on his face, and continued to sing at the top of my lungs. When the song ended, I told the boys they were rubbish, and I expected them to sing along at least once by the time I left. Nathaniel asked why, Josh laughed and did the "BUM BUM BUM"...SUCCESS! The next song came on, and it was "5,6,7,8" by Steps. Josh said he'd heard it before, but thought the singer must be from Calgary - It's got a twangy country feel to it - I laughed and told them they were British. I was doing the dance all by myself, and he was looking at me like he was enjoying the fact that I was crazy. I think I'll teach them the dance tomorrow morning. When the next song came on, I had just pulled into the wrong lane. I had only driven to this pool once before, and I didn't realize the lane I was sitting in was right turn only. There was a huge gap between the two cars beside me, so I flicked the indicator on, and began to merge in. - We were at a stop light, so I didn't see anything wrong with it - WELL! As I merged, the car that was sitting further back, stepped on the gas pedal and came zooming up beside me. "JERK!" I said quite loudly. He was looking at me like he wanted to talk. He was just a young guy...maybe a couple years older than me. I put Josh's window down, music still on, and the guy turned to me and said, "I was only sitting back there to leave that alleyway clear". "Oh!" I said. I then explained that I hadn't realized the lane I was in was a right turn only lane. We both clearly understood that it was all a misunderstanding, he smiled and told me he'd let me in, and I thanked him. Just as I was saying thank you, "Sweet Child O' Mine" began playing on my CD. He smiled even more, started laughing and told me my music was great. I thanked him while my face turned 50 shades of red, the light turned green, and he motioned for me to go ahead. We smiled, laughed, and went our separate ways.
I took the boys into swimming, got Nathaniel and Zach changed, forced their swimming caps on, and sent them into the pool area. Josh and I sat to "watch" them, and he read to me. When swimming ended, the 4 of us drove to the grocery store, picked up some bread, and left again. When we got back to the house, Heloise was home. She commented on how good the chili smelled, and had made a salad. She set the table, and we all sat down to eat. I thought the chili was good. In fact I had 2 helpings. Why wouldn't it be good though? I learned from the best. Zach and Josh both had 2 helpings as well! The only one that complained - Not surprisingly, was Nathaniel. He hates Chili, but seeing as it was in a wrap, I made him eat every last bit. Heloise said he had to as well, so I'm not some kind of monster.
After eating, I helped clean up, then getting frustrated with Josh and Nathaniel - Oh yes, Josh through a wobbler cuz his wrap had broken and he wasn't allowed to have a different one - I decided to come upstairs before losing my mind. I began writing this, sent some e-mails, showered, and am talking to my Mom on Skype. I think it'll be a pretty early night tonight. It's 9:05, the sun - which made a very brief appearance at 8pm - has gone down, and I can't stop yawning. Until tomorrow...Good Night xx

ReplyDeleteWell they are getting spoiled now because there is no way anyone else would of had a pic of the cat let alone print it off and run it back up to the school. Also to run back for swimming bags and who knows what else on a daily basis. == (that bit is from Callan) lol He always manages to rest on the lap top if I am using it. Must know I am typing to you.:0)
ReplyDeleteI think it is great that the boys are singing away and enjoying the music in the car and I know UC will appreciate that. And there dancing around in the morning is great.
