Day 233

One of the greatest feelings in the world? You wake up feeling terrible, and guilty for eating a piece of cheesecake last night, and just before you leave for school...your 7 year old cousin tells you how skinny you look today. Awesome!

When I first woke up, I could feel how cold the air was. My bed however, was so warm with the heater right next to me, and the comforter tucked right up under my chin. I was so comfy, and didn't want to get up and out of bed at all. But eventually I did, and my day began.

I heard Tim leave, and down I went. Nathaniel and Josh had already eaten, so I got my breakfast and did their homework with them. Then Zach came down so I got his breakfast. In between his meals, I made Nathaniel a tuna and sweet corn sandwich for the packed lunch he was taking, as he doesn't eat lasagna. Well...let me tell you something. Tuna and sweet corn together, is gross enough. But at 8 in the morning, it's enough to make you sick. The smell had me holding my breath. I was sure I wasn't going to be able to finish making it. But I did, and I chopped some vegetables to put in a baggy for him as well. When that was all done, I looked at Zach, and had a perfectly good reason for asking if he'd brushed his teeth and hair yet. He said he had, and when I didn't believe him, he did his fake cry. I asked Josh if he had seen him do it, and Josh said there was no way he had. - Just as I was thinking - Zach began to make noise, and pretend to cry because no one believed him, so I turned to him and said "So if I text Mommy right now, and asked her if you did your teeth and hair this morning, would she tell me you had?" He didn't really give an answer, so I asked again. He thought about it for a minute, then said "Well...I don't really want you to text her..." "Get upstairs and do your teeth and hair!" I said. The two of us went up, I got him ready, and then while they were putting their coats on, I finished getting ready, and off we went.

I dropped them at the school, and walked back to the house to clean my room and watch Desperate Housewives, until it was time to walk back at 10:30. Today was the "House Match" at the boys school. Much like Harry Potter - minus the brooms - there are 4 houses, and today was the sports competition between them. There was "Wellington", "Drake", "Scott", and Josh's - "Marlborough". I watched him play 3 rounds of football, and his team ended up coming in 2nd place with 9 points. Wellington took the championship with 10 points. I said goodbye to him, and walked back to the house.

When I got back, I had found a recipe online for what I was making for dinner, so I checked to make sure we had the ingredients we needed, and headed to the store for the rest. Once I had those, I went to Starbucks and wrote a card. I drove back to the house when I had finished there, and thinking I'd have time to get dinner started, I set my laptop up, with the recipe on it, downstairs in the kitchen. By then...it was time to walk up and get the boys.

I picked them up, and due to an embarrassing moment yesterday when Zach's teacher called me "NANNY" 3 times across the playground...so loudly that my face turned bright red...I now have a new name. Steve was making fun of me. We walked back to the house, Zach went to Arthur's, and the other 2 came in and read to me while I made dinner. Heloise got home in the midst of it all, and when I declined her offer to help in the kitchen, she took Nathaniel into the other room so I could concentrate on the cooking and he could read to her.

Dinner was on the table, and I didn't hear a SINGLE complaint! Broccoli Cheese Pie was a hit! I actually heard people saying how good it was as I was washing up! I felt like they approved. It was awesome. I cleared up when they were finished and the boys went out to play. Then I sat down to begin writing this, until Toni showed up. We checked some things online, and then headed to her house so she could get ready for the movies. We ended up seeing "The Joneses" which was MUCH better than "Dear John". We really enjoyed it, and pigged out on popcorn. She drove me back to the house, I had a quick conversation with Heloise, and came up to my room, green tea in hand. Now, as I'm falling asleep and it's 5 to 12, I really need to jump in the shower and then sleep. So...Good Night xx

  1. Broccoli I thought you asked me about cauliflower...wow where was I...not that it would have mattered because the only one I have for those two are a casserole that is just the veggie part of the dinner.
Glad it was a great success. You will have to give me the recipe. Wow gorgeous and great in the kitchen. What more could one ask for.
You will have to tell me about the Joneses I have never heard of it.
I did not realize it was that late when we were on skype. I should have and just told you to go to sleep. Sorry.
    Love you lots
    Miss you tons.

  2. Ooops! Haha shows how tired I was last night. It was cauliflower, but hmmm I bet you that recipe would be excellent with broccoli. Considering we're not allowed to eat cauliflower, and it tasted so good I kept stealing little pieces of it - and I'm not a cauliflower fan - I'll have to try it with broccoli some day.

Yeah, Heloise asked if there was any meat to go with it...but it was a pie...so I was like ummm...no? Guess she couldn't be a vegetarian, but after eating it she said how good it was.

HAHAHAHA I'm not gorgeous Mom, and I'm getting better in the kitchen, but of course I'll be great, look at my teacher!

That's ok, I always figure you don't realize how late it is, and I never want to tell you cuz I don't like saying good night. "The Joneses" is Demi Moore and David Duchovny. Their job is to live together as a fake family with a son and daughter. They're supposed to be the perfect family, and lead the perfect life everyone wants. Their job is to sell products to everyone they know, without the people realizing that's what they're doing. It's got some twists, and was pretty good. I'd watch it again.

Love and Miss you lots xoxoxox
