So right now I'm giving a 7 year old the silent treatment. Ugh. I've still had a good day, and have not let it put a damper on anything, but he's driving me MAD!
I got up this morning, and went about business as usual. Came downstairs once I had heard Tim leave, and all of the boys had finished breakfast. Zach had had a tantrum, and had me chasing him around the house in an attempt to get him to do his flashcards, but once we finally had established the fact that he had no choice in the matter, he sat down at the table. I did flash cards with Zach while timing Nathaniel with his times tables, and Josh read. Zach actually ended up telling me he loved me! It was so nice to hear!
We all got ready for school, and I walked them up. We were running a little late, as Nathaniel had been rude, and was being punished. - This brings me to why he's getting the silent treatment. - He wouldn't stop talking back, and no matter how many times I warned him, he just kept at it. After the way he treated me on the weekend, I had had enough. On our way to the school, Zach was a completely different person. His friend was ahead of us, so he was ready to cross the school street long before we got there, as he had run ahead. After I dropped them off, Michelle and I went to Starbucks.
We dropped Raffi at Angels on the way, and took Emilio - the baby - with us. Michelle bought my tea, and we sat and talked. It was nice. Once we had finished, I went shopping with her for a bit, and then she brought me back to the house. I did quite a bit of laundry, and hung sheets and duvets out to dry while watching Glee, and Lost. It was a nice, relaxing 2 hours involving a white chocolate mocha :D
As soon as Lost came to an end, it was time to go get the boys. I went and collected them, and we came back to the house. I still wasn't talking to Nathaniel, and made him sit on the stairs until beavers. While Heloise drove him up to Beavers, I read to Zach, and then the two of us played Hullabaloo. We had a great time. Heloise had made some chicken fingers for them, so Josh ate, and then joined in the game. Shortly after Heloise returned, she took Josh to swimming. Zach and I went up to get Nathaniel.
Back at the house, Nathaniel on the steps, and Zach waiting for dinner, I dished up, and called them to the table. Zach insisted he was full and couldn't finish his potatoes, and after me asking if he was sure AT LEAST 3 times, and telling him that meant he wouldn't be eating anything else afterwards, he threw out the last of the potato, and put his plate in the dishwasher. He then proceeded to "cry" as Nathaniel ate a yogurt, because he too, wanted dessert. I wasn't paying attention to him, and he crawled under the table. Nathaniel went back to the steps, and after a while, Zach playing with a paintbrush and my leg under the table, I got him to sit in a chair, and explained that being full, and not wanting something were 2 different things. I told him that he shouldn't have lied. We talked for a bit, and I was in the middle of a conversation with an old friend. An old friend who made me smile when he said "All women should grow out there hair... You look good and happy!" Zach asked if I'd help him with his spongebob lego, so I said bye to my friend, and we got building. I got up to make a cup of tea, and called Nathaniel into the kitchen. We had a talk about what had happened, and I told him that he would not get any warnings the next time he treated me like that. I said if he did it again, I would just stop talking to him right then and there, and it could be for longer than a day. He apologized, and asked if he could help with the lego. The 3 of us worked on it until Heloise and Josh came home, and once the two of them arrived, I said goodnight to the boys, and drove to Toni's.
When I got there, Tina was on the phone, so Toni and I had a conversation in the kitchen while she heated up the chili they had left for me. After I ate that, we all had some tea and cheesecake. We were there for a good amount of time, and had a nice visit. Hannah - Toni's roommate - had come in, told us the story of why her finger was bandaged up - She's a vet and a dog bit her - and she'd gone to bed before we left. When we did leave, I followed Tina out of there so that I wouldn't get lost. When I got back to the house, everyone was already in bed, and I was far too tired to write my blog. That's why I'm posting it now instead :p xx
