Ahhhh 6:30, and I'm relaxing in my room. How did that happen?!
My eyes are hurting I'm so tired. I should not have caved and stayed up so late last night. 6 and perhaps a half hour's sleep is not enough! When I did roll out of bed, I got ready, but didn't go down until about 20 past 7, as I could hear Tim. By the time I did walk into the kitchen, he was just leaving. I got Zach his fruit, and then ate my breakfast while doing Zach's flash cards with him, then playing Spongebob Top Trumps with Nathaniel when he had done his math. When we finished our game, Zach and I came upstairs to do teeth and hair, and shortly after that, it was time to get ready to leave.
Zach threw a bit of a tantrum on the way to school, because of course, he didn't want to walk. But I think I actually know how to handle him now! Yes, I think I've cracked the Zach code!!!!!!!!! HOORAY! It only took me...7, almost 8 months. Anyway, we made it to the school, and by the time I hugged him goodbye, he was laughing.
I spoke to Michelle and Steve, and ended up walking halfway home with Tina. When I got back, I wrote a card, and looked up a recipe for Shepherd's Pie. Then, I switched Grey's Anatomy on, and began to cook. When the episode - which was great and almost had me in tears - finished, I turned on my music and was having a great time in the kitchen. It was when I was chopping carrots and listening to Coldplay that I got the crap scared out of me. Let me tell you, it's a good thing I had thought I'd heard the door open, or Brigitta would have had the knife in my hand, in her arm or something. She had walked in, and I didn't even know she was coming to clean today. I thought I'd heard some keys, and the door shut, but I didn't know what was going on, was a little freaked out. Then I brushed it off when I heard nothing else...thinking it was in the music. Next thing I knew, she was behind me in the kitchen. You should NOT sneak up on someone playing loud music, who has a knife in their hands. JEEZ!
Anyways, once I finished everything, and set it aside in a casserole dish, I covered it up, and left the house. There were a few things I had to mail for Heloise, so I wanted to get to the post office as soon as I could, and I wanted to get a Starbucks. Well...standing at the post office...the one I hate...it must have been LITERALLY 40 minutes at the LEAST! I was going insane. They're SO slow. Then the lady who seems to have been holding the rest of us up, finishes, and turns around with a look of shock on her face. As if to say, "Oh my goodness, look how big the line has gotten since I walked in"...NO KIDDING! Now get out before we all attack you! Anyway, standing in line I realized how trashy the post office really is. The amount of magazines you can see, in the blink of an eye, with practically naked women on them is disgusting. I realize I must sound really old and prudish, but honestly, I wouldn't want to bring a child in there. It's disgusting. So...in the end, everything got mailed, it was now 1:45, and I was finally out of there and on my way to Starbucks.
When I arrived, I ordered my drink, and sat down to relax for a bit. I looked through some of the pictures I recently took, - which reminds me, I've come up with names for the ducks who have been letting me take their pictures...they will now be known as George and Alice. - then I walked to the Bench store to check something for my brother, and went back to the car.
I drove straight to the school, waited in the car for a couple of minutes, and then walked into the playground to collect the boys. I spoke to Cath, Michelle and Tina, and when the boys came out, we walked straight to the car. Zach was throwing a wobbly about not wanting to swim, but I handled it, and we went on our way. Just before we reached the car, I saw Michelle's middle son hanging onto another lady's hand. The lady - who is one of the boys friend's mom - turned to me and said "Stranded child" to which I responded "Aw Raffi!" Thinking this lady knew him as well. She didn't. She seemed relieved that I did, and I told her I'd take him back to Michelle. It turned out he had run down the street, Michelle thinks it was after me but I didn't see him. She was so thankful when she saw him in my arms. Zach however, wanted to know why I was able to carry him. Haha oops. I wasn't quick enough to say that he was only just 3, instead I said it was different circumstances. Oh well. We got in the car, and drove back to the house.
When we arrived, the boys grabbed a quick snack, and I did Zach's flash cards with him. Then it was off to swimming. (My Aunt and Uncle couldn't have them over tonight, and swimming lessons have changed so they Nathaniel and Zach needed to have an assessment). When we got there, there was a long discussion with Zach about getting in the pool, and of course others were interrupting me, trying to "help". They weren't. Eventually though, he got in. Our neighbour who was there and attempting to help out, told me later that she thought I handled it well, so hopefully that will get back to Heloise.
When we got home, Heloise was already here, and she had put the dinner in the oven for us, so by the time I folded laundry, supper was practically on the table. I actually ate it, minus the potatoes, and loved it! Although, right before taking the first bite, I felt really hot, and was SURE I was going to be sick. Not sure what that was all about...but I was not feeling 100% during dinner, and as I'm sitting here now, my tummy is turning :S
Anyway, now I've written this, it's only 7:30, I can hop in the shower, get ready for bed, perhaps even watch Desperate Housewives and be asleep by 9! Wouldn't that be amazing?!!?!?! Better go now! Good Night xx

Ii can't believe you have to wait all that time everytime in the post office. I think I would find one closer to the Starbucks you go to. there must be others around. It is a royal pain there I know because they make you weigh every single letter and you can't just mail things like here. Anyway I will keep my fingers crossed that you find one with nicer staff even. lol
ReplyDeleteGlad you were there for Raffi. All the children want to be with you. What a nice feeling. Everyone loves you...well almost everyone. Perhaps right now not Nathaniel.lol
Love you lots
Miss you tons

Honestly! The post office drives me nuts. For instance Mom, I'm sorry but because you can't just buy a book of stamps and pop a card in the mail, your Mother's Day card will be late. I only sent it today :( My fault I know, but I've had it written and addressed, was going to drop it off yesterday, but have to time it right so that I don't leave anyone in the car for too long and UGH! Even the lady working there today was like - you'll have to blame it on the british post, like everyone else does. Well WTF? I couldn't even send it express like at home!!! So ridiculous!
ReplyDeleteHehe I think even Nathaniel might love me. I don't think EVERYONE does. But, he was making a spongebob lego thing with me today! Go figure. Miss and Love you lots xoxoxox
Hehehe! Was Ariel from my soccer team sitting next to you at dinner? That's why you were hot! He was sitting next to me on the couch last night and I had to move to the floor cause he was radiating so much heat! I couldn't believe it! Even Erica, who was sitting on the other side of him, pouted when he moved into my spot cause then she was cold lol!
ReplyDeleteLol nope... :p xox
