Today was really nice.
After not getting to bed until 1:30 this morning, I decided to sleep until 10:30. Even after my alarm went off, I didn't want to get up...but I forced myself to...sort of. I stayed in bed checking e-mails until 11, then I was up and getting ready. My Uncle arrived at 12, and he, my Aunt and I drove into Peterborough.
Feeling sick on the way due to sitting in the back of the jag, and powerful perfume being blown at me, I decided to cover my nose and try to sleep. I wasn't out for long, but luckily I was out long enough to make it to Yaxley without being sick everywhere. When we arrived, we walked into my Nan's. She was asleep, so I waited until I saw her move, before giving her a kiss - I didn't want to scare her - We sat down, had a mocha/tea/etc while watching some of the Crystal Palace game, and at about halftime, the 4 of us went up to the Hampton.
A while later, a little tired of walking around Tescos, thinking of how I could be hanging out with my cousin Charlie, but doing the grandaughter duties...I was ready to go, and so were they. They kept saying how bored I must have been, but I denied it. In all fairness, it was nice to be out with them, I was just exhausted really.
We got back to Nan's, and moments later - before my tea even had time to cool down - my cousin Charlie was there to pick me up. YAY! He asked them what time he had to have me back, and off we went to his place. It was so nice to see him. We got to his and Anna's new place - which is beautiful by the way - and I was welcomed by Lilly who went running in to tell Leila that I was there. I got a hug from each of them, and was then bombarded by books they wanted me to read to them hehe. It was too cute. I was reading out loud when Anna brought me in a mocha. Charlie was drinking one, and thought it would be something I like. I tell ya, this cousin of mine...he's awesome. I read some more, and talked to Charlie and Anna. Before long they decided we'd all go across the street to check on the dog they are looking after. Her name is Nila, and she's a boxer. She was so excited to see us and was jumping all over the place...including on the trampoline! Lilly and Leila had asked me to join them on it, and when I did, the dog came running over and leaped onto it. I made her get out about 5 times, but she just kept coming back. Charlie came on with us for a bit, and the girls couldn't stop laughing. It was so much fun. We headed back to their house, sat down, and had a conversation until I had to leave. Unfortunately I couldn't stay as long as I would have liked, but I'll go down and see them again soon. Anna drove me back to my Nan's, and when we pulled up, I could see Tom had already arrived. I said bye to Anna, and went inside.
I didn't have to take my shoes off, as the 5 of us were leaving for dinner right away. We had a reservation at a restaurant called Loche Fyne. (I think I spelled that right). Anyway, it's a really good seafood restaurant that I had taken my Dad to when he was here for his birthday. The meal was lovely, aside from the 2 shrimp I had that I forgot came eyes and all...and I managed to use my will power, not order the delicious fish and chips, but get a seafood tapas, and a salad. Little did I know that there was a piece of bread that came under the goat's cheese, in the salad. Damn. Oh well...it was still healthier than fish and chips. I also avoided a few delicious sounding desserts. Everyone but Nan and I had some coffee, and then we went back to her place for a bit. Tom left almost immediately after getting back, and the rest of us conversed until about 8. Nan had a show she wanted to watch, and my Uncle was nodding off in the chair, so we decided we had better go. We said goodbye, got into the car, and moments later, I was asleep. I woke up a few times, but it wasn't until Braintree that I was up and paying attention to what was going on.
When we arrived at the house, I thanked my Uncle and Aunt, came in, said good night to Heloise and Tim, made my tea, and came straight up to my room where I've been e-mailing my sister, checking Facebook, and writing this. I'm exhausted and will be going to sleep very shortly. I have a feeling 5 boys (Josh and Nathaniel have friend's sleeping over) will be loud enough to wake me up in the morning - it's a bank holiday. So, in preparation for that...Good Night xx

So nice that you got to see Charlie and spend some time with him. Just you. Also I am pretty sure Nan was happy to see you. She may not of said it but I am sure she will tell others you came. :0)
ReplyDeleteI think it is lovely that you are getting this time together with all of them. Time that you would never normally get to spend with Dads side of the family.
Love you lots
Miss you tons
