My goodness, what an odd day. From feeling like I was in a time warp, to going through some serious weather changes, I feel like I'm not sure where I am or what year it is.
I got up and got ready. Nothing was weird about that. Got the boys to do their homework. Still, everything was normal. It was even the usual routine for the school run. Well ok, not quite. It was going to be, but when we stepped out and felt the air...it felt like rain, so we came back in for 5 minutes, and when the time had passed, we took the car instead. In our last few minutes at the house, I had begun colouring a picture for a friend's birthday. I wasn't done when I left, so after speaking to a couple of Mom's in the playground, it was that that I came back to.
Once I finished colouring, I took a picture of it and sent it to the appropriate person - who loved it by the way - I then got ready, switched coats, as it hadn't started to rain yet, and I wanted to look nice, and then I went back out to the car and drove to Braintree. When I arrived, I went in to Starbucks and was very happy to see that my guy was working. He knew my drink, confirmed it with me, and then made it. He's such a cutie. I sat down and wrote some cards, and then went on my way.
I was now on my search for "2012". This is where I stepped into the time warp. I drove to Tescos first in Tiptree. I hate that place. I don't know what it is, but whenever I walk in there, they make me feel like an absolute idiot, and like I don't speak the same language. I picked up some soy yogurts, broccoli, and a dark chocolate kit kat pack, and went to the cash. I asked the cashier if they had any more DVD's anywhere, as the selection I was looking at, was very minimal. She looked at me like I had 5 heads. She repeated what I said. "DVD'S?" Yes...DVD's. "Like blank DVD's?" she asked. "NO! like Movies" I said. She said they only had the chart topping ones, and asked if the one I was looking for wasn't there. Then, she hummed and hawed and said the closest place to sell DVD's other than them, was Colchester. A 20 minute drive? Are you kidding me? I left, and pulled into the co-op at the next roundabout. They had DVD's, but they were VERY dated. "Breakfast At Tiffany's", "Grease", it was ridiculous. I asked them if they knew of anywhere else, and they told me the name of a store close by. I went there, and their selection was EVEN older! MY LORD! - I thought to myself. What have I stepped into? As I drove out of Tiptree, it suddenly began to rain like crazy, and then it turned into a crazy hail storm. It only lasted about 2 minutes. It was literally like the transition of time traveling. It was weird. Then, no rain, or anything. Odd. I decided to drive to Whitham and try the grocery store there. They had a small selection, but I still couldn't find what I was looking for. I turned to the guy next to me and asked him if he knew of anywhere. He told me where to find the nearest Blockbuster, and it was within walking distance. When I arrived there, I was upset that I still could not find the movie I was looking for. I asked the lady at the counter...turns out it's not out in England until March 29th :| Guess that explains why nowhere I went, had it. :|
I drove home, grabbed a quick lunch and may have sat down for 5 minutes. It was then time to start Nathaniel's dinner. Once I had cooked the pork chop, rinsed the broccoli, put water in the pot, peeled and chopped the carrot, and wrapped the potato in tin foil...I sat down for another 5 to 10 minutes. Then I got up, got ready, threw the potato in the oven, and headed to the school. I picked Nathaniel and Zach up and came home. They had upset me already. I was not happy with either of them from the get go. I don't know what's changed, but they haven't been treating me very well these last couple of days so it had me in a mood when the first thing Zach did when he saw me, was throw his head back in disappointment, then there was the ever famous phrase "Where's Mummy?" Then Nathaniel came out and asked what was for dinner. A question they know they're not to ask me, cuz I hate hearing all the complaining no matter what the answer was. Nathaniel was being rude again and so I told him if he didn't start treating us better, I would treat him the same way. I stopped talking to him and he was asking questions all the way home. When we got to the front door he said he guessed he better not ask anymore questions. They came in, I finished making dinner and folded laundry. They had their treats (Cuz it's Friday), and Nathaniel ate while Zach watched TV. Once Nathaniel was all ready to go, and I had cleaned up, I finally had a chance to sit down. Then the door bell rang. Nathaniel came with me to answer it, but it wasn't time for him to go yet. Wow! I had him ready and fed before it was time!!!! I felt so proud of myself. My Aunt and Uncle came in and talked for a bit, and then off the 3 of them went to Nathaniel's soccer game. Well...my Aunt was going grocery shopping instead of watching, but they still all went together.
Zach and I sat on the couch together and started watching "Speed Racer". After seeing someone smacking some guy around, and then picking up what looked like a bloody chicken leg...the two of us decided to change the channel. We watched "The Penguins of Madagascar" instead. Heloise got home a little while later, and delivered some VERY exciting news. Tim had booked their skiing holiday, and the 6 of us are going to....CANADA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wasn't going to go with them on their holiday, but it turned out, when Tim was looking at flights today, it's cheaper to go skiing in Canada then it is in France, and they thought I might like to go with them and perhaps meet up with my Mom at some point. I'm so excited!!!! We're going to Lake Louise!! That's where I think I'd like to get married. It's such a beautiful place. Anyway, I'm super excited and will find some way of seeing my parents while we are there. :D Zach kept asking Heloise why I wasn't going to Canada with them. Heloise explained a couple of times that I was, and he seems happy with that. He is however, upset that he won't be going to our house, as that means he won't get to see my "Spongebob bits". Hehe. Apparently I told him that the next time he visited us, I would show him my Spongebob Stuff. The only thing I can think of is my stool and my pillow...but he seemed satisfied just when I mentioned the pillow, so I guess I'll have to have it out the next time they're in BC. Anyway, there was some more talk about Canada, and Zach was a little upset that his skiing coaches will be Canadian. I believe his exact words were "But I don't want to go to ski school because they'll tell me to sit on the couch". You see, Zach doesn't like the word couch, he prefers the word sofa. And he thinks it's SHTOOPID to call a sofa a couch.
Heloise made dinner, and her Zach and I ate. When Nathaniel got home, he got ready for bed, Heloise went out, and then I read to the two boys and laid with Zach and Jelly til Zach fell asleep. (I couldn't believe the cuddles I was getting!) and then Nathaniel asked me not to leave the room until he was asleep, but told me I could go on my computer in their room, as my Mom and Sister were waiting to speak to me. He fell asleep just before Tim and Josh got home, and when they arrived, I came up to my room to speak more freely. Now I am absolutely exhausted and can't wait to shut my eyes! Good Night xx
