Day 152

I'm sitting downstairs alone now. Heloise and Tim have just gone up to bed. I'm exhausted, but I stupidly turned on "21" not too long ago, and now I don't want to turn it off. It's a really good movie, I've already seen it, but I still don't want to miss the end. So instead of going up right away, I'll write my blog down here.

Today was a much better day for me. I didn't go to bed until late last night because I was talking to my Mom and my Sister, so I didn't get the greatest sleep, but I got up anyway, as I had to do the boys breakfasts, and was planning on coming back for a nap after dropping them anyway.

Well, I got ready and went downstairs. Got their breakfasts, and then heard that Nathaniel was a very grumpy sleep deprived child lying on the couch. I went to see him, and talked to him for a bit. While the other boys ate, he got up to attempt eating a dry pita, but he didn't get a bite in before the tears started. He didn't think he could do it. I told him that was fine, and he went back to the couch. I was getting my breakfast when I heard more crying and the boys saying he had just thrown up. I was walking to see him and he met me halfway. He was crying and clearly scared as he didn't make it to the bathroom. As if I'd get mad at him for that. I told him it was fine and brought him into the bathroom to clean him up, and then sent him upstairs to get into his PJ's. Luckily the mess wasn't nearly as bad as I had pictured. I cleaned the carpet, and then went to eat my breakfast while Josh did his homework. Heloise left the house, and we finished getting ready. I didn't want to, but I went upstairs to wake Nathaniel. I waited as long as I possibly could, but it was time. I got him to get his coat and shoes on, and we grabbed his bucket and headed out the door. We jumped in the car, and I drove up to the school. Unfortunately, when we got there, I had to leave him in the car. I hate doing that. Luckily though, because it was raining, the boys were able to go in right away. I hurried back to the car, and we came home.

When we arrived I got him settled upstairs in his room, and I wasn't feeling too well myself, so I told him I'd be lying on the couch if he needed me. We must have both woken up around the same time, because about an hour and a half later, I was frozen and got up to go put the heat on, and I almost bumped into him in the hall. He asked what time it was and wanted to know if it was ok if he came out of his room now cuz he was getting too hot. (I wish I could have said I was getting too hot). I told him he could lay on the couch, and we found some Spongebob. He laid there, and I went to hop in the shower. When I came back down, I started vacuuming. I made sure to turn the TV up before I started though. I did the cleaning that had to be done, and then had him read me his book while I did my make up. I used my laptop camera as my mirror so that he didn't have to get off the couch, and every now and then he'd look over to see what I was doing. He told me I didn't look any different. Great! :S After my make up, I made him some lunch. So far he had managed to keep down 2 mini pitas and some grapes, so I made him some eggs as he was starving. I made myself half a bowl of soup, and while I was eating, he read me the rest of his book.

After that, he sat down to watch Ice Age. I went in the kitchen and began to make his dinner. The steak and carrots and such were already made and put in 2 separate mini dishes, so I did the pie crust, baked a potato and boiled some green beans. In between different tasks, the two of us had gone to get Zach. I left Nathaniel in the car again, and I had the door locked. Not long after getting into the playground, the alarm was going off. A couple of Heloise's friends told me they'd wait incase Zach came out, so that I could go check on Nathaniel. I went back, and he was fine. He hadn't touched the door handle, and I sort of already knew that, as their alarm is ridiculous. He told me he was just sitting there when it went off. It kind of freaked him out. I told him I'd only lock his door (Which I know doesn't do much, and I didn't want to do it, but I didn't have another choice). I told him if anyone he didn't know came up to the vehicle to scream as loud as he possibly could. I went back into the playground, and told the ladies what had happened. They said I didn't really have to worry as it's safe around here, and one of them said that she takes comfort in the fact that no one would want to take her kids. If they took them, they'd be returning them soon after. Offering her money to take them back. Poor things. We laughed, and then Zach came out and the two of us hurried back to the car. We got in and drove home.

Nathaniel finished watching Ice Age with Zach while I finished making his dinner, and after numerous phone calls that I received, it was decided that my Uncle would pick Josh and his 2 friends up from football for me so that I didn't have to lug the other 2 out again. Nathaniel had attempted to eat his dinner, but only managed to eat the pastry off of both pies, and a little bit of the steak. I guess he ate some potato as well, and maybe a few green beans, but he came in saying he wasn't feeling well. I told him it was ok, and to go back to the couch. I put Batman on for the two of them, and began making our dinner. My Uncle returned with the older boys, and not long after, Heloise came in the door. She got the boys ready for their shower, and when she came back down I had the pie in the oven, and she did the vegetables. For the first time in a few hours, I was able to sit down and give Nathaniel some cuddles while we watched TV.

I turned the Olympics on, and we watched the ski jumping. Then it was dinner time. We all sat at the table while Nathaniel gave us a bit of a play by play, and after we finished, Heloise hauled the boys off to Cubs. I grabbed some ice cream and sat down with Nathaniel. I spoke to my Mom on Skype, and turned Bedtime Stories. Zach got home with Heloise and came to sit with me while we watched the movie and spoke to my Mom. They had to go up to bed before it was over, but I was given strict orders by Zach, to record it before he'd go up. I did.

Heloise finished reading to them while I spoke to my Mom and watched some TV, and then she went to get Josh. When they got home, he went up to bed, Tim got home and after he ate, the 3 of us sat in the family room watching "21". They didn't seem to be as interested as I was, and Heloise thought it was an odd movie. Anyway, that's about where this blog began. The movie has since finished and I'm now watching the last of "My Best Friend's Girl" because I had to turn it off early when I tried last week...or the week before, and I just saw the last hour is on TV now, so I might as well :D I will go to bed after this I swear! Mine and Josh's movie isn't until 4 tomorrow anyway, and they have football in the morning so I can stay in my room for a while :D I'll have to do some cleaning in there as well.

Yes today, over all, was a very good day. I love when the boys are home. It's so nice to get to have some free time with them (even if I was cleaning for most of it). It's nice to be able to have fun with them instead of always disciplining them, and rushing them off to the next activity. This weekend should be a good one. For now though, I will say Good Night xx

  1. Well what a day. Poor Nathaniel having to be hauled around here and there and woken up when he is not feeling well. That is too bad. Hopefully both of you are feeling better tomorrow and it is not something that will go through the whole household.
It was nice to talk to you on skype today and see Zach as he asked you all the questions about the movie and is this guy a bady and why this and that. Then for him to ask you to click it over....lol meaning to tape it for him. He sits so close to you while he watches. I think even though he can be a horror sometimes I am sure he will miss you when you are gone. As I am sure Josh and Nathaniel will.
Can't wait to see if Josh enjoy's the movie with you and to hear all about the two of you going somewhere on your own tomorrow.
    Until then.
    Love you lots
    Miss you tons
