Day 141

I made it through the month of January!!!! And quite quickly I might add. So why was today so bad? Was it because I didn't get any sleep last night? Was it because I was all of a sudden super aware of how alone I was the entire day? I'm not sure what it was, but what I do know, is that I'm now sitting here...full...wishing I didn't have that muffin after dinner, and in a terrible mood. Ugh! Let tomorrow be a better day.

I woke up, after minimal amounts of sleep, as I didn't actually fall asleep til 1:15 or 2:15...I can't remember. Whenever it was, I wasn't happy. Knowing I didn't have to take the boys to school today, I decided I'd do my makeup after they left, and was therefore able to reset my alarm for 15 minutes later. It helped a little bit, but that last 15 minutes was so comfy I didn't want to move. I did anyway.

I got ready and went downstairs. Tim left before the boys got up. Once they made their way downstairs I got their breakfasts for them, and we got homework done. Heloise didn't have to go to school until 11, so she was dropping them off. As soon as the door shut, I did my physical challenge with my Wii Fitness Coach, then my workout which was PAINFUL!...and then I went upstairs to get ready to go out. I listened to my music, and took my time. Perhaps a little too much time, but I didn't think I'd need 3 hours to shop. Well, I began to drive to Colchester. For some reason, once there, it took me about half an hour to find the parking lot :| A number of roundabouts, and some back roads...some of them taken more than once, and eventually I got to where I wanted to be. I walked in through the Department store and right to MAC. They didn't have anything I wanted :| That doesn't happen often. I was not happy. The employees weren't helpful at all, and I was missing Darcy, the most amazing makeup artist ever.

I walked out of there, and proceeded to the GAP. A store I never shop at, but had seen some things I thought I wanted. I went in to try some stuff on, and came out without making a single purchase. The plaid blouse I sort of liked, but didn't think was exceptional...was just a button up top and was 70 dollars! No thanks. I proceeded to "GAME" to look at some wii and DS games...nothing really worth my money there either. Then I went to Starbucks. A place a girl can always count on. It was delicious I have to admit. Perhaps even the highlight of my day! Until I'd sit down to watch one of my favourite shows later, but I still had a few hours to kill before that. I went into one of my favourite stores Paperchase, and there wasn't really anything there either. How depressing. Clinton Cards, there's a bee tatty teddy that I want...but I couldn't justify spending the money today for some reason. Maybe it was all the Valentines stuff around...I'm not sure, but something made me very aware that I was on my own, no one to hang out with, and I just wasn't in the mood to drown my sorrow in shopping. I decided I better head back in case I got lost on my way. I didn't want to be late for the boys. On my way back through the department store, a guy stopped me to do my makeup. He put foundation and some blush on me. I told him it looked alright, but it was way more than I'm used to. It's make up I'd wear on set, but not for my everyday life. I didn't mind getting pampered for a minute. I'd be paying for parking, so I might as well enjoy something other than my drink. I somehow found my way back just fine. I was early, so I went to boots to pick up some necessities, and then to Co-op for some more...I needed chocolate. I thought I'd buy a bag of mints as well, cuz I like having something tasty in my purse. So I picked up some Humbugs. EW! I tried one...not good. I might have to give them a second chance tomorrow, but my expectations will certainly not be high. I paid, jumped back into the car, and headed to the school.

When I arrived I was informed that even though it was a beautiful day, Josh's soccer was cancelled. Apparently the pitch was too hard. We all went to swimming. Josh went off with one of his friends at the beginning while I sat and watched the other 2 in their lessons. Zach was waving away again. He's much happier after his full days of school, than he was just doing half days. It's nice. When Josh returned he sat and read his book to me. The boys finished, and while I waited for Nathaniel to get out of the pool, Josh was helping Zach get ready to leave. He's really been trying to help me out lately. What a sweetheart. Nathaniel was taking his time in the change room, and was being a pain. After what seemed like forever, we made it to the car. We drove home, and as we had only just shut the door when Heloise came in. She made dinner, and once we ate, Zach and I sat down to watch some TV. The boys went up to bed fairly early as their behaviour wasn't the best and Heloise thought an early night would do some good.

At 8 o'clock Heloise, Tim and I headed out to a meeting at the boys' school. It was all to do with reading and what to expect as Zach learns. It was all pretty basic. I felt most of it was common sense. (Perhaps not for some people). The only thing I find odd, and will never understand, is the phonics they do here. Instead of the "name" of the letter such as E being said as we all know, Eee...They are taught that it is eh. Or C - See is CA. But so is K...so you have curly ca or kicking ca. So when children here tell you how to spell something, they sound like they have issues. JAH OH SHH, NAH AH TUH HUH AH NAH YA EH LA. Ridiculous! Anyway, I'll have to keep my thoughts to myself (or between us), as this is the way Zach needs to learn, and I'll be a part of the process. Anyway, Heloise and I spoke to the teachers and looked at some of Zach's work after Tim dashed off to soccer, and then the two of us headed for the door so that we could get home to watch "Glee". We were really looking forward to it. I have to admit the meeting wasn't bad, and was even a little bit interesting, but my night REALLY picked up when I got to sit down and enjoy my show :D I've decided I want someone like Cory Monteith's character Finn. He just makes you smile.

Anyway, now that's done and I've come up to my room, I really should get some sleep tonight. I'm hoping after the lower body work out I had to do today, that I'll be able to move for Jazzercise tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Good Night xx

That is just ridiculous. The saying goes why fix what isn't broken and I don't believe it was. So these teachers and parents are all basically saying the way we learned how to read was not right and we really did not learn. Oh wait I am not sure you will be able to read this. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Maybe this is why there are so many more illiterate kids out there today. Cause they don't effin get it. Can u blame them??????
Moving on as this subject always rubs me the wrong way and I will never understand it.
Nice that Josh is helping you out so much with Zac. He is turning into such a lovely boy with your help. Sure hope when all is said and done and you are gone he will be appreciated.
I know how much you hate Valentines Day so maybe with that on your mind and all the stuff in the store that is really what is putting you in a bad mood. You and Toni will have to do dinner and a movie that night. lol
Maybe pick something other then the new Valentine movie though. lol
Hope you don't hurt too much for jazzersize.
Just a thought but if you three went to parent teacher interviews who kept the boys?????
