Day 138

Another good day :D
I was sitting downstairs, pretty wired after numerous cups of caffeine throughout the day...but when my computer died, I decided I'd come upstairs to the warmth of my room, and the sound of just my music and the clicking of my keyboard. Now that I'm comfy in bed, my energy is beginning to drain.

My day began as it normally does. A little slower getting out of bed these last couple of days...but when you're so tucked in, and know the cold is waiting right outside your door...waiting to smack you in the face the minute you step out...getting out of bed can be hard! I've been rolling over, turning my heater up, checking my e-mail, and then forcing myself up and out. Today I went down the stairs and into the kitchen to get my fruit, to find that Tim was leaving early. While chopping banana, apple, mango and getting blueberries, I was interrupted numerous times by little boys that wanted their next course. I got it all for them, and when I thought I was finally finished, I went to sit down and eat. The second my bum hit the chair, Nathaniel asked for water. I thought of my Mom and how she says she must have a buzzer attached to hers, because we always wanted something just as she sat...Well, I got everything else from her, so why wouldn't I have the buzzer as well? Anyway, I was just about to stand, and thought HANG ON A SECOND! Why can't YOU get it? I figured Zach gets his own when he wants it, so I calmly said...You can get it. "Fine" he said in a whiney tone...and off he went.

We worked our way through home work today, and then, I told Nathaniel he had to open the Michael Jackson CD's he got for his birthday, so that I could listen to them while I cleaned later. Well, we opened them, and I popped one in right away. We then had a mini dance party as I showed them the moves to "Blame It On the Boogie". We were having fun. I didn't want it to stop, but unfortunately, they had to go to school. Josh started panicking thinking we were going to be late, but it was no later than normal...well ok, maybe a few minutes later, but certainly not as late as they've been before. We arrived at the school, and weren't the first people there this time, but we still had to wait for the bell.

I walked home, and when I arrived, I spoke to my brother, and wrote an important letter. I then put MJ back on, turned it up, did some dancing , some vacuuming, cleaning and some laundry. When I was finished with all that, I got changed and did my Wii Fitness Coach work out. It was good cuz I asked my trainer to incorporate weights in today, and I really felt it. Nearing the end of my work out, some of MJ's old songs like "Heal the World" and "You Are Not Alone" came on, and really brought me back. I started reminiscing and couldn't stop smiling. After that I had to give Super Mario Brothers a try. I had a bunch of other stuff on my mind though, and was worried about the time, so I died twice, and turned it off knowing if I got too into it, I wouldn't have time for a Starbucks.

I showered, and headed out. It was cold. But the good kind of cold. My body was absolutely fine, it was just my hands that were freezing. I walked into Starbucks, and it was pretty packed. The girl at the counter asked if I was having my usual. AWESOME! She wrote it down and swiped my card. She looked at the price of my drink and asked if the card was registered. I knew I forgot something! Dammit. No worries though...I'm so well known at that Starbucks, that she said she'd take my syrup and soy charges off anyway. SCORE! I waited for my drink to come up on the bar, and as I walked to a table, I glanced outside...IT WAS SNOWING! I immediately scratched the sitting inside idea, made my way through a group of people too afraid to go outside, and opened the doors with a huge smile on my face. I can tell you right now, I was one of very few people smiling...in fact, I may have been the only one. A few people were running for cover. Others had umbrellas up, and a couple even looked disgusted! Weirdos! Anyway, I walked around with my grin from ear to ear, admiring the little white specs that were falling onto my hair. By the time I got about half way around the circle, it had stopped. Damn. Oh well, it was enough to make my day. I headed back to Starbucks and wrote a letter. Then it was time to head home so that I wouldn't be late for the boys.

I drove back, still smiling, and when I pulled in the driveway I saw that Heloise was already home. I walked in and we talked before she said she'd go get the boys. She misses picking them up. So while she did that, I made Nathaniel's rice. Yuck. After that was done, I went up and got my crosswords and glasses. I sat on the couch, wrapped in the fleece, and began to work my brain. This new book I got is tough! But I love it anyway. Heloise returned with Nathaniel and Zach. Although I was listening to music, I knew what was coming, so I got up to turn it off. That's when the two of them ran in to say hi, and Zach asked if we could watch Narnia. He doesn't like me using the TV for anything. We sat together and I worked on my crosswords, while he asked thousands of questions about the movie. My Uncle came to pick Nathaniel up for soccer, and Heloise went to get Josh from his. When he came in I got some cuddles, and he "helped" with my crossword. After thinking hard, he came up with the answer for a cricket clue. The 3 of us continued to watch Narnia, and soon after came dinner. Then Josh got ready for Cubs and soon after Tim got home, Josh headed out. Nathaniel came home and played some wii after giving me some cuddles. Then they were supposed to be going to bed, but because Tim's brother, wife and kids were coming over tonight, Heloise was a little more lenient. They stayed up talking to me, and then asked if they could have a hot chocolate. I made one for each of us. Zach did his normal eat the marshmallows, and leave the hot chocolate, but it was my mint one, so I wasn't too worried about wasting it. I find it sickly if you drink too much. Anyway, they drank those, and Zach jumped around for a bit while Heloise, Tim and I sat in the family room and Nathaniel played wii. Eventually they went up to bed, and Tim picked Josh up. He asked if he could have hot chocolate, and made it himself. The milk over flowed, and he spilled some on the floor as well...but the point is, he tried. He sat and "watched" the end of How I Met Your Mother with me, although he spoke through most of it, and then watched the beginning of Friends before getting called up to bed.

I watched some more TV, and spoke to some people online. Tim came down, and I flicked Twilight on. It was at the exact part it's at everytime he's in the room. The only scene he's watched is them playing baseball, and it drives him nuts. I laughed for a good 5 minutes. OH YEAH! In between all this, Heloise came down to speak to me and told me what a fantastic job I'm doing with the boys, and she hopes that I don't want to leave because they don't want me to go anywhere anytime soon. How nice is that?!?! I almost started to cry when we started talking about me being home sick, but I held it back. She told me how brave she thinks I've been, knowing how close I am to my family she can only imagine what a hard decision it was to come here. It was a really nice conversation, and I'm glad we had it.

Once the boys were in bed, Tim's brother, wife and kids showed up. The kids were almost asleep so the youngest laid in his mom's arms, while the eldest laid on the couch waiting for someone to take him up to where he was sleeping. The wife and I spoke for a bit, and then she took the littlest upstairs. I watched the end of Twilight, and then, while speaking to people, my computer died. It was time for me to come upstairs. That's when I crawled into bed, and did the regular petville, farmville checks, and the conversations on MSN. I was thinking of watching Desperate Housewives as well...but it's now almost 12:20, and I am tired yet again. I'm going to speak to my Mom for a bit, and then drift off into what will hopefully be some good dreams. Good Night xx

  1. What a lovely conversation you had with Heloise. Nice to know every now and then that you are appreciated and all the cuddles today..WOW. It sounds to me like everyday you make a little more of an impression on the boys. Nathaniel getting his own water and Josh trying very hard to make his own hot chocolate. You are doing amazing.
Nice that it snowed that little bit for you. Sounds like you had such an enjoyable day and who couldn't listening to Michael Jackson. Like I always say take a little time each day to dance.
As far as the buzzer attached to your ass I am glad someone else can relate and knows how it feels. Guess I should take a lesson from you and tell people to get it themselves. lol
Happy I got to talk to you for a bit today.
    Love you lots
    Miss you tons
