Day 137

I came up at about 6:30...absolutely exhausted and falling asleep at the kitchen table. I thought I'd get things done early so I could sleep early. Well, it's now 7:20 and I have yet to accomplish anything really. So let's get started.

Up and ready, downstairs for breakfast. I got my fruit and attempted to stay out of Tim's way. The boys were really well behaved again today. I wonder if my talk with them worked. The one about thinking Heloise might decide to send me home if they don't listen to me. I wished Nathaniel a Happy Birthday and we got through the homework rather quickly. Heloise came downstairs and decided, because she had the day off, that she'd take them to school. They left, and I did some cleaning up. Then I walked up to Jazzercise. It was a really good class today. I felt it working, and I was sweating - which is always good when exercising - An hour later, I walked home.

I showered and cleaned, grabbed some juice, and Heloise made soup for the 3 of us. (Tim was working from home). I then went with her to do some grocery shopping for Nathaniel's birthday party. The most fun we had was in the pick and pay aisle. We were searching for different candies that would tie in with the Spongebob cake Tim's going to make. We got jelly drops for the jelly fish, and they'll have shoelace licorice tentacles. Skull gummies for the bottom of the ocean. Fat licorice tape sort of stuff that rolled up will look like Gary, we'll just put some antennas on it. Some bottles for the bottom of the ocean, and that's about it, because we couldn't find any shell gummies or anything. We left there, and by the time we got home and unpacked the groceries, it was time to get the boys. Heloise said she'd go, so I decided to go online for a bit. I was going to watch some of my shows then, but didn't think I'd get through an entire episode before they arrived, so instead, I spoke with an old friend.

When the boys got home, I actually heard Zach ask where I was. It was really nice. He came in and sat beside me and asked if we could put a DVD on. We put in Chronicles of Narnia. My Uncle and Aunt showed up, and the house began to get crazy. Nathaniel wanted to open his presents, but Tim was on a conference call so he was asked to wait. Then my Nan called to wish him a Happy Birthday. It was her 3rd time trying to get a hold of him. After he thanked her for his birthday money, he passed the phone back to me, and I spoke to her for a good 10 to 15 minutes. It was really nice. I miss her. Even though I'm in the same country. That's ridiculous isn't it? I can't believe I've only seen her twice since getting here. That needs to change. I hung up with her, and Nathaniel was playing his new Super Mario Bros for wii, so I went in to ask him if he wanted to open the gifts I got him. Of course he said yes. I got him 2 different books, and he seemed to be really excited about one of them. It's the Guinness World Record - Gamer's Edition Book. I got a huge hug and a thank you from him.

Josh and I had a nice conversation the couch, and I got to sit and talk to my Uncle about cars. It really felt like I was surrounded by family tonight. And that was awesome. I know that sounds crazy, because I'm always with family here...but for the first time in a long time, it felt like I was the boys cousin, and not just someone who tells them what to do, or what not to do. I was happy.

The boys had dinner, and then the grown-ups ate. Nathaniel blew out the candles on his Nintendo DS cake that I picked out for him, and then they headed off to Judo. The grown-ups had the better tasting chocolate cake. My Uncle then began to give me directions on how to get to Nathaniel's football tomorrow - I may have to take him if no one else is around - and as I was sitting there listening to him, I was drifting off. I felt like I was going to fall asleep. As soon as he finished, and gave me the map, I said good night, and came up to crawl into bed. Now I'm going to watch American Idol, I'll give you my comments, and will be going to bed soon after.

So here I am, watching the Dallas auditions. Where do I begin? 8 years later, and the girl they told to sue her voice coach is back. What is she thinking? Ugh. Neil Patrick Harris' sign comment made my day. Lloyd Thomas with the 2 daughters, he was good. People are going to love him I think. What a great personality. Aww I just got goosebumps. Yep, I like him. I really like Kimberly Carver's voice. She sang her own song. She's unique. I like it! Simon doesn't agree with me?!?!! Oh dear. How many times can one person wink? Dexter...you're DEFINITELY not the next American Idol...now leave. "That looked like it hurt" haha first time Randy's made me laugh. Aww I really like David. The one with Teretts. He has a great voice and is a cutie. I liked Toddrick - the guy that made the song about Idol. He's cute. Look at his eyes! Wow. Vanessa Johnston...the one in the pink and purple...I like her make up, but she can NOT carry a tune! Oh dear. I loved the flashback of the "Your horrible!" guy. I remember him. He was so bad. Christian Spear has a nice voice. She's the 16 year old that's an 8 year cancer survivor. And that's that for Dallas. Now I'm going to go talk to some people, and then sleep. Good Night xx

  1. So nice that you had such a great evening with the family, I am very happy to hear that. As for Nan you are right and you need to fix that.
even if it is just over night one night.
I am very glad Nathaniel like the books you got him that you showed me. I intend to read the whole series if I go to Winnipeg as I got them for Tara for Christmas. lol
It will be very nice for just you and Nathaniel tomorrow if you get to take him to football. If it turns out that UC takes him maybe you should go anyway. You might enjoy it.

  3. Take an hour tonight to watch Idol Mom :p xoxooxxoox Miss and Love you.

Hehe I guess you wouldn't like my eye shadow most days Aunt Cindy. My Nan is about an hour and a half away. I don't mind driving it, but don't know if I'll have the car, so when I start thinking of having to get to a train station etc, it seems like a chore. It's really not that bad though, and I'll probably do it next weekend. Speak to you soon x
