Building Snowmen comes at a price...You should see my knees! I have about 6 bruises on them. I wondered why it hurt while I was rolling the snowballs...and now I know.
So I woke up today, knowing the boys didn't have school. I was excited that we would be playing in the snow again. I got ready, and I went downstairs. They were still in their pyjamas. I knew I could have stayed in mine and gotten up at 7! DAMN! Oh well...it was too late at this point. I got Josh and Nathaniel some breakfast, ate mine, and had yet to see Nathaniel. It turned out while I thought he was upstairs still, he was actually in the playroom on the Wii. Of course! I went in to get the addict, and I got his breakfast as well. I managed to get them to do some homework as well!
I did some things on my laptop, and Zach and I watched a bit of TV together, while the other two played, guess what, Wii. I really wanted to go outside, but it was SO hard to get motivated. You see, that's what happens when you're freezing before stepping out the door. I had my jeans, socks, slippers, t-shirt, and hoodie on, plus a fleece blanket on my lap, and I was STILL frozen! Part of that was probably due to Tim leaving the front door open for about half an hour this morning. Anyway, eventually the snow called my name enough, that I got up and got ready to go out.
The boys got ready too. Zach in his alien hat, myself in my owl hat, and Josh, in one that had arms growing out the sides. - You can see a pic on my facebook - The first place we headed was the field. The boys had decided that instead of meeting up with the rest of the village, they wanted to continue building our forts, and then have a snowball fight. Unfortunately, as good as our forts looked, when we got to the field, all of the snow was powder. As you know, you can't pack powder...so that nixed that idea. It took some convincing, but eventually I asked if they had a sled, and that got them excited enough to move on.
We searched the shed, and eventually found it. Zach got on, and I pulled him to the park, while the other 2 walked along side of us. There were a number of kids there, and they all knew each other from school. It was a very cool atmosphere. We were there about 5 minutes when Zach began to complain that he was cold. I didn't want to go in :( And I knew the other 2 wouldn't either. I persuaded him to go down the hill with me, and then he climbed on one of the play structures for a few minutes, while getting me to spin it 'round.
I was in the middle of a conversation with one of the moms, and he kept complaining of cold feet. I dragged it out a bit longer, and then Nathaniel said he was cold and wanted to leave as well. The mom kept talking, and Nathaniel had changed his mind. There were better jumps on a different "hill". By the time I got away from the mom however, Nathaniel was again, ready to leave. The 3 of us began to walk home. Josh was staying with his friends, and then going to their house afterwards. I picked Zach up, but afraid of slipping on the ice with him in my arms, I talked him into walking. Sort of.
When we arrived home I made some hot chocolate for the 3 of us, got out the hob nobs, and then made lunch. I made Nathaniel's into a face - special request - and Zach's into a bunny rabbit. Heloise and Tim came home because of the snow, but they were working so I occupied the boys for the rest of the afternoon. We played Wii Sports Resort until Heloise had to take them to the dentist. I had about an hour of free time, so I jumped on my computer, and worked on my scrapbook.
When they got home, Josh was with them. Nathaniel asked if I'd help him put together his Spongebob Lego. Not long after, I was sitting at the table on my own, creating the Krusty Krab and the Patty Wagon, while he and Josh played Wii. He came in a couple of times to see how things were going hahaha but that was all. Ok...he also passed me a couple of pieces. That can be tiring you know! Anyway, when I finished his, - and was impressed with myself by the way - Zach asked if I could put his together. It was close to dinner though, so I expect I will be doing that tomorrow.
We ate, and after 11 hours of the boys constant chatter...I was pretty exhausted, so as they went up to bed, I came up to get ready as well. I've had some good conversations tonight, and a few laughs while being all cozy in my warm bed. I'll be going to sleep very shortly.
Ah yes, but before I sign out, there are a couple of things I forgot to type about. 1 - Josh told me today that I was his favourite cousin! How nice is that?!?!?! 2 - You know those commercials where they tell you to step forward and donate to help children in 3rd world countries? Well Zach hates watching those. He gets really upset. It came on tonight, and he said ok. And he got off the couch, and said there, I've taken a step. HOW CUTE IS THAT?!?!?!?! We couldn't believe it. Heloise then explained what the man meant by saying that.
Ok Good Night xx
