Now, to tell you about my day...it started off great! Another good dream, some good music...nothing was going to bring me down! Until I got downstairs. Josh was waiting at the bottom of the stairs, which he seems to do whenever I'm in my room, and to be honest, sometimes it gets on my nerves...Especially when I know there's something else he should be doing. Anyway, I asked what he was doing, and the first words out of his mouth were "NOTHING, WE'VE BEEN DOWN HERE ALONE, FOR AGES!" (Tim had to stay at work lastnight so he wasn't here for his breakfast duties) I told him off as he knows I never come downstairs until 7-7:10am, and he tried to tell me it was past that...until he looked at the clock. What a way to start a conversation. I was not happy, but after getting their breakfasts and sitting down to do homework with them, I decided I was not going to let that decide my mood for the day.
Some colouring, times tables reading, and we got ready to leave the house. Out the door and it was sunny!!! I was happy. We walked through the path, and I thought I'd see the builder, but he wasn't there. I think he must be finished with that job, as it was just old guys today. The pathway was sooooo muddy that we decided to take the long way instead of going down the second path. The "Montel Williams" look-a-like walked by, I heard him speak, and it is definitely not him. He has a British accent :p We got to the school and luckily weren't the first ones there, so we didn't have to wait around too long. Josh said goodbye, then Nathaniel's class trickled in, and Zach and I walked over to wait in his class' line up. They went in soon enough, and I walked home.
When I arrived, I decided I would drive up to the Co-op to get some soy milk. I was out, and knew I would want some hot chocolate before Heloise got home, and I knew -although it was beautiful out- that if I walked up, I wouldn't have time to do my workout. So, I climbed into the beast and off I went. I got there and picked up some cereal as well, as there wasn't much to choose from in that department at home. I walked up to the cash, and it was the guy I always like to see there. He is quite possibly the best looking guy in Essex. Definitely the best looking guy I've seen. Anyways, he asked if I needed a bag, and I said no. - 1st Mistake -
I walked out into the parking lot, put the things in the car, turned the key and...Nothing. Great. Let's try that again. Twice, third and a fourth time...still no result. I gathered my things, locked the door and walked back to the house. I wasn't in a bad mood. I just laughed. Things definitely could have been worse. It could have died in the middle of an intersection...on the highway...I could have been stuck somewhere further away. But I wasn't. I was within walking distance, and I was safe. When I got home, I walked into the breakfast room to put some things down. That's when I saw the cat had spilled one of the boys cups of water while I was out. Of course! I laughed again as I cleaned it up. I ran upstairs to get changed, and walked into the playroom to do my workout. It was then that I remembered I couldn't. Last night, the boys had accidently unplugged the TV...and it was a complicated cord to get back in, so as Tim was out, it had yet to be done. I laughed again. All of this with the Volvo...for no reason. I should have just walked up there. Then I would have gotten a workout! Anyways, I went back upstairs to get changed, and came down to have a delicious bowl of cereal, and watch the rest of the episodes of The Office that I needed to. I coloured some of the picture I drew for Nathaniel, sent a few texts, and called Co-Op to make sure the car wasn't going to be towed for being parked there for too long.
Heloise got home and picked me up so that we could go try the car again before getting Zach and his friend Noah, and grab some car seats. When we got there, she popped the key in, turned it, and it came on. Figures. We didn't have time to drive it straight to the garage though, so we got the car seats and headed to the school. As we were driving, the check engine light came on. Yeah! We hadn't switched cars...this was in the car that my cousin has been driving...my Uncle's car. We looked at the manual, and it said to take the car to the dealership...it also said the car may go into limp mode. Hmmmph. Again, all I could do was laugh. Heloise was laughing as well. What are the chances?! We picked up the boys, got in the car and drove back to the Co-op to get The Beast. Heloise then followed me to the garage where I parked the vehicle - and due to such small spaces - crawled out the passenger side door. Heloise asked me to wait in the car with the wee ones, while she took the key in. I walked up to the first Jag I saw...opened the door, and realized it was something else in the back seat. I'm not sure what, but it was not children. Thank God there was no one in the front seat either! I shut the door, chuckled at myself, and walked to the proper Jag. Muppet! I put the car seat in the trunk, and got in to sit with the boys.
Finally arrived home, where nothing more could go wrong. I was sure of it! The rest of the day was pretty easy. Heloise made lunch, Zach was occupied with Noah, and I had some free time to do what I wanted. I sat on my laptop of course. And I coloured a bit as well. That seems to be part of my everyday life now. Anyway, lunch was served, we ate, and then I sat there FREEZING! Not only was the heat not on - as usual - but the boys were outside and therefore the door was open. Heloise had gone out to get fruit, and I wanted to make sure I could hear the boys if anything went wrong. When Heloise came back, she had to leave again to get Nathaniel, and was taking Noah back...Zach still wanted to play outside and I sat with a HUGE fleece wrapped around me at the breakfast table.
Zach grabbed his "goggles" also known as the Ben 10 Night Vision glasses, and went to work on a large rock he was trying to crack. It was too cute watching him work so hard. He came in, and the two of us sat down to watch Scooby Doo...my LEAST favourite show. Then I read him a few books, while Heloise went to pick Josh up, and Tim came to get Nathaniel. More reading, Josh, his friend and Heloise returned...we had supper and dessert...all was well. A cub run for the boys...I got to stay home. Zach took his torch and away they went. When they returned I was watching "Home Alone"...to my surprise none of the boys have ever seen it! At least not Zach or Nathaniel...which leads me to believe Josh hasn't either. In my house...it's not Christmas until you've watched it! So Zach sat with me for the first little while...he also spilled his milk on me. OK, that HAD to be the last bad thing of the night! - Thank Goodness, it was...I didn't know if I'd be able to laugh at myself anymore. - When Nathaniel got home from football, he watched as well. When it finished, the two of them went up to bed, and I stayed up for a while watching TV with Tim and Heloise.
After getting sleepy, I decided I'd start my blog. Then I came up to my room...to the warmth...to finish it. And here I am. The end to a crazy and ironic day...hoping tomorrow will go over much better, starting with a good dream when I shut my eyes. Good Night xx
Sounds like your day was filled with tests and you passed them all.....Good for you most would have lost it. I am very impressed and proud of my little girl. Just think if you took the other road when Josh sat on the step this morning from that point on your day would have been ruined and all those things that happened would have got you so angry and worse as the day went on. This was a typical choose your own adventure kind of day.lol
