Day 70

Day 70 started pretty early. That's what happens when you go to sleep at 3:30, only to get up at 10. I had heard the boys go off to Football of course, but I didn't let it bother me this morning. I was too tired for that today. When my alarm went off, I reset it for 10:30, but then decided that wasn't such a good idea. I stood up so I wouldn't be tempted to open my eyes, and then made my bed so that I wouldn't be tempted to lie back down. Then I remembered what I was doing today, and I got excited enough that I wouldn't want to sleep.

Jumped in the shower, and got dressed. I decided I would go do everything I had to downstairs before everyone came back. So I brought my laptop down, poured a bowl of cereal, and caught up with an old friend/co-worker while reading some other e-mails. The doorbell rang, and when I answered it was Josh. They never wait for the person that drove them. Instead they bang on the door so that whoever is home will answer, and they can get in the house without waiting for the key. So as you can imagine, I was not surprised when I opened the door and saw it was him.

He wandered in and I was just cleaning to go upstairs. He told me about his football match, how they won, and gave me a play by play on his one goal, and another assist. He then followed me to my room, and when the door was open, he knocked before stepping in. (He's learning). He then proceeded to have a conversation with me about everything, while watching me do my make up. He thought it was very cool that when I was done, I had 3 colours on my eyelids. - It was actually 4, but I wasn't going to correct him, as the 4th wasn't so noticeable).

When I finished that, the 2 of us went back downstairs. I told Heloise about our girls night out, and Josh asked why the guy tried to dance with me. Heloise gave him a look and said "Because she's pretty". I don't think he meant it like that though. I think he was just confused and didn't realize clubs were for dancing, not just drinking. I went in and gave Zach a cuddle (who had just returned from Football with Nathaniel and Tim), and I enjoyed a cup of tea while checking my Brain Age. Said hello to Nathaniel, who wasn't very talkative today...and then came back upstairs to finish getting ready.

Toni came over and after realizing we couldn't watch Twilight on the DVD player in my room, Heloise made Zach watch Ben 10 in the kitchen, and Toni and I put the movie on in the family room. This pleased Josh as he was following us up to my room to watch it in the first place, but Heloise told him to leave us alone. Now we were in the family room, he was more than welcome. We started the movie, and Tim started a fire for us. Then I had a little visitor. Zach came in to sit with me. He climbed right up onto my lap and gave me cuddles. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, he said "Can I be Jack Sparrow when I grow up?" To which I said, "Sure!"...he turned to face me and said "But I don't want to be Jack Sparrow...he gets stabbed". It was too cute for words.

A little more talking through our movie, but for the most part the boys were good. Zach got up and down a couple of times but it was ok. He came back at one point looking for a place to sit. I offered him my lap, but he told me I had already had my cuddles today. That was it. I guess my allotment had been all used up.

Heloise made a big roast lunch instead of doing dinner. I wasn't hungry so I just sat at the table and joined in conversation. It was Toni, Tim, Heloise, Uncle Clifford, Aunt Jill, the boys and I. Once things were cleaned up, Toni and I went back to watching Twilight. Josh right behind us. With just over half an hour to go, Toni looked at her watch and we decided we had better be on our way. We left the movie on for Josh, and although we didn't get to play Scene it, we left. We'll have to play that next weekend.

We drove to Braintree and after a carefully thought out plan of attack...we went into Bench. Our master plan came to a crumbling halt after that. We spent so long in there (which was great!), that we didn't have time to look for shoes or go to Starbucks. Oh well...I got new clothes :p And although Toni wasn't going to...she did as well.

We headed over to the theatre, met with Toni's friend, and picked up our tickets. We made our way to the concessions, got our popcorn and then stood in the line to go into our theatre. We were relatively close to the front, so after what seemed like ages, we got great seats as soon as we walked in. We were happy with our decision. Sitting through the previews was almost painful. Now, I LOVE previews. I never miss them...but when you're as excited as I was, for a movie to start...previews don't always have that special place in your heart. Especially when they're all ones to movies you heard about/saw previews for months and months ago. Finally, the movie began. I was in awe already. I won't give any of it away...instead I'll just say it was AMAZING! I loved every minute of it. It had every emotion in it, and it has made my list of favourite movies for sure. In fact, as Toni and I came out of the theatre, we contemplated buying tickets for the 8 o'clock show. We thought seriously about it, but then considered how crazy we'd look to some people, so we decided we'll just go back another day. It was sooooo good!

I got home and although I'm extremely tired, I was too excited to go right to sleep. I grabbed a cup of tea, came upstairs and spoke to a few people. Now that I'm finishing this up, I'm going to stay up a couple of minutes longer to finish some conversations, and then I will be out like a light. Good Night xx

  1. Between clubbing dancing shopping and the movie you have been waiting for for so long. A little boy following you around taking interest in you putting on your make up and sharing his day with you. Also this same little one wanting to spend time with you, knocking before entering and watching a movie with you. Another little boy wanting cuddles even though they were limited to me sounds like you had a pretty amazing weekend. Glad you did. It sure makes all the trials and tribulations through the week worth it when you have great days like the last couple.
Love you and miss you tons.
