Up and ready for what no one knew would be a LONG day. After what seemed like hours, the gang showed up. My brother and his girlfriend - Stephen and Fiona, my sister, her friend and the friend's daughter - Tara, Sabrina and Rain, my cousin and her boyfriend - Kaylie and Bentley, and I, all headed out to Niagara Falls. Or so we thought.
What should have taken us about 20 minutes, ended up taking us at the VERY LEAST...an hour. The one car load isn't entirely sure on what the problem was exactly (with directions and all)...but one thing we do know for sure, is that we went in a GIANT circle, and up a dirt road that we never should have hit. There were definitely a lot of laughs along the way. Many to do with the ridiculousness of the situation, and we were definitely glad once we finally got to the falls parking lot. But all in all, I honestly had a good time on the car ride over.
Once we arrived, it was imperative that Stephen and Kaylie ate something...and fast. Haha. So we made a Wendy's stop...saw some very scary little girls with wayyyyy too much makeup on, and fake hair. - We're still not sure if they were there for a child's beauty pageant or what, but it will give me nightmares -
We walked around, took some great pictures, and looked in a couple of shops. We didn't have too much time there, as Tara had to be back in time for the wedding rehearsal dinner. So back into the cars we got, and with the right directions, we made it to Aunt Cindy's in good time. We got to say hi to Tom (my cousin), and his girlfriend, and then everyone from the Niagara trip, and my mom, headed over to the hotel.
We checked in, and met up with A LOT more family. It was great to see everyone. We talked for a bit, and it was soon time to get ready to go for my "birthday dinner". We went to a place called "MT Bellies"...it was delicious! And the waiters and waitresses, sang Happy Birthday to me and brought me ice cream with chocolate syrup and a cherry on top. Oh yeah, and before you get a chance to say it...yes, I did eat my weight in food today. But I enjoyed every second of it :p
After dinner, we came back to the hotel, got ready to leave again, talked for a bit, and then headed over to the movie theatre. We were going to see "2012"! There were 11 of us, so we almost took up an entire row, and luckily my Dad's meeting had been changed to an earlier time so he was able to meet up with us as well which was really nice. Especially seeing as I hadn't seen him in 62 days.
A lot of excitement rushed through us during the previews, and as we sat in suspense throughout the movie. Not only wondering what the outcome would be, but looking for myself, my mom and my dad on screen. The first few scenes have my mom in it, the scene my dad was in got cut, and although I worked on a number of scenes, the only one you can see me clearly in is one of the last ones. Nonetheless, it was very cool! Made my night for sure.
The movie ended so we all came back to the hotel. Brought Dad's stuff in, and then went to visit Aunt Cindy in her room. As most of us were falling asleep sitting up, we decided it might be time for us to get some rest. We're all back in our hotel rooms now...and not that it would be any surprise to those of you who read my blog on a regular basis...but it's now 2:30am...and I am only just finishing writing this now. That means I will not be posting the pics tonight, but at the end of the weekend, I will definitely have some to show you.
