Day 60

Well...Nothing has worked out for me so far in Ontario. That's not to say I haven't had fun yet, but I'm not gonna lie...the situation sucks. I am having a good time with my family of course. There are just some people I really wanted to see, and things I was looking forward to, that clearly aren't going to come together.

This morning we got up, got ready and drove to Burlington. From there, my Mom, my Aunt and I hopped on a Go Train and took it to Toronto. We had a few good laughs today about the terrible movie from lastnight...Aunt Cindy was cloud bursting on the way, and I made the skies clear wherever we went, with our Jedi mind powers. What a dumb movie! Honestly. Oh well, it gave us some humour, and something to talk about for the next couple of days, if nothing else.

When we arrived in Toronto our first stop was Much Music. Unfortunately I hadn't thought of it prior - as I didn't know what day we'd be downtown - so I was unable to have a tour. Not much you can do about that though. I suppose I could have used some contacts, but I didn't want people thinking I was rude or that I thought I should be able to get it because of "who I am", and who I know. Next stop...STARBUCKS. The 3 of us sat there for a while, and I tried to get a hold of a couple of different people. I was supposed to be meeting up with someone I haven't seen in a few years, but unfortunately our schedules conflicted. Luckily, I got a hold of my cousin. She was in class when I was texting her, so my Mom, Aunt and I went down the street and into some shops until she was finished, and then we met her back by Much. It was so good to see her! She ran across the street, and although it's been years, it was like old times. It honestly felt like I had seen her yesterday. It was awesome.

The 4 of us walked up to the mall so that she could get her shoes stretched, and we could look around and hopefully find my Aunt some shoes for the wedding. (That part didn't happen). After walking around the mall a few times, we went up to Indigo, and had a conversation over coffee. It was really nice to catch up. Some more mall time, and then Kaylie (My cousin's) boyfriend showed up. - It was nice to finally meet him - We all sat down and had some supper in the food court. It was getting pretty late, and we had a lengthy trip ahead of us, so we walked out of the mall, said goodbye to Kaylie and Bentley, and headed back to Union Station. *Throughout the whole trip, I had been in conversations with another friend I had been hoping to see. It turned out as we got to the mall, he was getting to the Starbucks he had just been at. Figures. He didn't have time to come to the mall cuz he had some errands to run and had just got back from a trip. Again, same as the other day, I was so close to seeing a friend, yet so far.*

We had to wait a bit for our Go Train to arrive, but once it did, we got on, and fell asleep for a bit. When we got back to Burlington, Aunt Cindy drove us home. After arriving, we noticed my Uncle Paul had rented "Pretty Woman" for us. - A movie I had yet to see - I switched that on, enjoyed some tea, and of course chocolate, and watched in adoration. What a great movie. Another favourite to add to my list. (One that is too long to recite) Now I'm lying in bed, I have to be up in about 6 hours, and I should get some sleep. Good Night xx

  1. My mouth is hanging open in amazement. There is no way I would have let you leave Dauphin without seeing Pretty Woman, if I had known you'd never seen it! I own it on VHS and have a special edition DVD. Such a classic!
