Day 57

I haven't laughed as hard as I did tonight, in a long time. It was great!
...But I'm getting ahead of myself here.

After a very VERY short sleep, 2 different phone alarms forced me to open my eyes in pain, and slowly drag myself out of bed. That didn't happen right away however. For the first little bit, the alarm became a part of my dream. Someone was saying shower-baloo, or something very similar to that (which I soon found out sounded like the ringtone), over and over again. After hearing it about 5 times...I opened my eyes to the darkness, and not 2 minutes later, the light was switched on and blinding me.

Once I was ready, I checked e-mails and such, and when Tara woke up, she drove my Mom and I to the airport. She had to drop us due to construction not allowing her to park, so we had a quick goodbye, but really it's a see you soon! Cuz she'll be here Friday with the rest of the family for the wedding :D

My Mom and I checked in, and went through security. We didn't have to wait at the gate too long before they started boarding, so we stood up, and walked onto the plane. We get to our seats and there's a guy on the aisle. My Mom says to him, oh we're sitting beside you. His answer..."Ok". No movement, nothing! We had to crawl over him to get into our seats. And this was only the beginning of it all.

Russ - the fun Steward - came over to tell us about exit row seats, and had us laughing pretty hard. Then as the crew was explaining emergency precautions he had me cracking up again. My Mom was already asleep by this point. THEN the guy next to me's pager goes off! The same guy who has been sitting there sending texts! One of the Stewardess' looked at him and said "Is your phone on?", he went "no! It was a pager". Um ok...so number 1, turn your pager off, number 2, your cell phone is sitting on your knee, and it's not turned off either! So whatever, he jokes around with the Stewardess, and nothing changes whatsoever. I end up falling asleep cuz I am so worn out, and am woken up numerous time by this guy bumping me. I woke up in so much pain cuz of the way I had to sit just so that he wouldn't touch me. I couldn't use my TV if I wanted to cuz his arm was on my arm rest covering my buttons. He was so annoying! Then as we're landing, they say "We're now in preparation for landing", and doesn't he open his laptop!! Granted he only used it for a minute, but still. As soon as he closed it, he proceeded to send texts. And no one stopped him! He was driving me! He then proceeded to get up and get all his stuff ready - bluetooth in ear - before we hit the ground. MUPPET!! Once we landed, he stood in the aisle with his bag on the seat so that I couldn't even stand. Anyway, all in all, the guy was pretty ignorant. Either that, or completely oblivious to the fact that there are others living in the world around him. On a more positive note...other than that guy, the flight was fine.

We walked down the ramp and onto the tarmac to get to the terminal and collect our luggage. We met up with Aunt Cindy, and Uncle Paul picked us up at the door. We started our drive back to their place, but made a stop in Heaven. Oh wait...no it wasn't...but it was certainly AMAZING! Are you ready for this?? We were stopping for a Starbucks...and beside it? A PIZZA PIZZA! IT WAS GREAT! I couldn't believe it. So I grabbed a slice and got a pumpkin spice latte. Perfect!

We continued home with a stop at Sobeys, at which point, I went across to the hair dressers and got my hair washed and my eyebrows done. My Mom met me there, and the two of us walked back to my Aunt's.

When we arrived, my cousin was here with his girlfriend. It was SO great to see him! It had been way too long. We caught up, I showed them "Damage" as they are two people who can appreciate Stone Cold Steve Austin and his work :D We decided after that, to play some Wii Sports Resort. We had sooooo much fun doing 100 pin bowling, archery and frisbee. Adam (My cousin who's getting married on Wednesday), and his fiance showed up and we had a good chat and dished up supper.

Afterwards, we sat around watching TV, and had some dessert. My Uncle had picked up a pumpkin cheesecake specifically for me. I was very happy :D And it was delicious! My Mom blew out some candles on the cake they had for her, and she opened some presents. Some more laughs and conversation, and all the cousins had to leave with their significant others.

Now we're sitting here having some tea, and while My Mom and Aunt watch Desperate Housewives, I sit with my headphones on, music blaring, typing my blog. You see, I haven't had a chance to catch up to where they are in episodes yet, and I don't want ANYTHING ruined for me! I am extremely sleepy though and will be going to bed soon. Plus my laptop is on the verge of dying, so I better post this before that happens. Speak soon! Good Night xx

  1. Oh Maija. I am SO relieved to read that the reason you were blogging with headphones on, was so that D.H. wouldn't be ruined for you. I thought for one brief moment (I actually gasped), that maybe you didn't watch it. Whew. Okay, my heart beat is now returning to normal. I wish we lived closer so that we could watch D.H. together.
