Day 26

It was a good day today! Woke up and did not want to get out of bed. Almost fell back to sleep. In fact, if I hadn't of realized what was going on, and kept my eyes closed for a second longer, I would have been in a deep sleep fast. Jumped out of bed and got ready, went downstairs and had some Frosties :D

Got the boys ready for school, we all jumped in the car and dropped them off. Then it was off to Angels for Zach, and we took a cute little 2 year old named James as well, as we were going there anyway and his mom is a friend of Heloise's. She would be picking Zach up afterwards, so it was only fair. James was crying at first, but then I started talking to him about his socks (cuz we had a conversation about his very colourful ones the other day), and today he wasn't wearing any. And that was it. His crying stopped, and he was all smiles. Such a cute little boy! We dropped them off, - I carried him in -

Heloise and I drove home, parked and walked up to the church. It was Harvest Festival and Nathaniel would be saying a line in a little skit. We sat through some singing, and some poems and such. It was really cute. Nathaniel said his line very clearly and slow enough that you could understand him. For someone who was so nervous, he did really well. I hadn't taken any paracetomol yet though so my head was hurting. When that finished, Heloise walked back to the school with one of the classes, and I went home to do my Wii.

Monika was here cleaning so I spoke to her, and when I finished my Wii, I started catching up on the Big Bang Theory. Not too long after, it was time to go get Josh and some of his classmates for their Cross Country tournament.

We picked him, another boy and 2 girls up, and drove into Colchester. Parked the car and crossed a huge field to where all the other schools runners were. After a 10 minute trek (each way) to the bathrooms, everyone was back and "warming up" for the race. The Year 3's went first. Boys, then girls. And then the Year 4's. Well...talk about excitement. Let me tell you one thing...when I have my own children, I will be an absolute mess! I thought I could see Josh in the top 5 across the field but thought no...maybe not. After all, it is his first time. Then they got closer and closer and I thought, is that him in 2nd? Heloise asked me the same thing, and after looking harder I was sure that was my little cousin gaining on first place. I started to get choked up as we cheered him on and ran along side. He was looking over his shoulder, probably for his friend Oliver, and it looked like he was going to fall back a bit into 3rd. Then, out of nowhere, it was like he got this mega burst of energy and he was off! He sprinted, gaining lead on the 3rd place student, then was neck and neck with 1st, pulled ahead and took 1ST PLACE at the finish line! It was a good thing I was wearing sunglasses. It took everything in me not to start blubbering. I was so happy for him and could hardly hold the tears in. It was an amazing feeling. I'm so glad he did so well, and the fact that he beat his friend who seems to excel at EVERYTHING, just made me that much happier for him. It was great. He got a medal and we stayed for the team medal ceremonies, and then drove back to the school to pick up Nathaniel and his friend.

Because of the track meet we were there after school hours, so the two boys were waiting in the office. We grabbed them and dropped Josh at a friend's place. Came home and I got a snack ready for Nathaniel while Heloise went to get Zach at a friend's. She came home without him because on her way someone else asked him to play at their house. She made dinner while I watched another episode of Big Bang Theory. (She doesn't like letting me cook if she's home) Next week I should get to do all 5 meals though. I'm kind of excited.

As I was sitting down to eat (after getting Nathaniel in his Judo kit), Heloise took William home, and Josh, and Nathaniel to Judo, picking up friends and Zach on the way. I finished eating just in time to watch a bit of Damage, and then Toni was here to pick me up and go shopping. Well...we got to Freeport. 1st stop was to pick something up for Heloise, 2nd stop...what we went for...The Bench store! OMG! I was in heaven, and so was Toni. It's an outlet store to begin with, and much cheaper than at home...then we read the sign and if you bought 2 things you got 20% off, if you bought 3 you got 30% off. Could this get any better??? NO! We grabbed everything we could fit in our hands...wanting more but trying to contain ourselves, and we headed to the change rooms. One by one we tried the articles of clothing on and said yes to most. On our way to the cash we found more and more, looking at bags and such, but putting an end to the madness (Or so we thought) we walked to the cash. I looked to my left and saw a scarf on a mannequin that was wearing one of the sweaters I had in my hand...and I had to have it. We went to the back of the store...took some time deciding what colour, and then finally peeled our eyes away from everything else and paid. It was great!! We went into a couple of other stores, but nothing could beat what we had just bought. We went into Starbucks and the guy knew exactly what I wanted!! He even knew the alternate name for it! He was my hero of the day :p He asked where I was from and if I was living here now. Seemed like a really nice guy, and told the girl how to make my drink properly. It was delicious! Toni got a drink as well and we went outside to drink as we walked. It was a cool night it kind of felt like winter, which was nice with a warm drink in hand. We saw a shoe store she liked, so we went in. I wanted to try a pair on. They were really nice Etnies - black and pink plaid - but they didn't have my size. Can't say that I was surprised. We walked around to the front gates, went in one more shop, and then decided we had spent enough and were happy with our purchases so we might as well leave. She dropped me off at home and I put on Damage to finally watch the end. Well...I didn't get to hear it, so I'll have to watch it Saturday when I'm babysitting (once the boys have gone to bed). Watched Scrubs with Heloise and Tim, and spoke to my mom for a bit. Showed her all of my new items...and then got in bed to write this. Now I am exhausted, it's almost midnight and I have to be up at 6. OOPS again! Where does the time go? I need my energy, I have 5 children to walk to school tomorrow instead of the usual 3, and the extra 2 are being dropped off at 7:15. Which means it's going to be a very hectic breakfast and homework probably won't get done. All of that being said...now's the time for me to pass out.

Good Night xx

  1. Well that sounds like one of the best and busiest days yet. Loved all the things you showed me that you bought and can't wait to borrow them. lol
I always cried at your track meets and things whether you came in first third or last. I always got emotional when I would see my children coming around the corner to the finish line so you come by that naturally and yes you will be a mess when they are your own. So nice that you got to see Josh though. I am sure he appreciated you being there in his own little way.
Also so pleased Zach got his line all right and could be understood.
Glad you had a lovely day.
Good luck tomorrow with all the children in the morning.
    Love you
